Pioneer 5 Miles Run
The Pioneer 5 Miles Run is a local athletic event held at the David Crockett Birthplace State Park in Limestone, Tennessee. This 5-mile running race is owned and managed by the State of Franklin Track Club (SFTC). It is included as an event in both the Tennessee Running Tour and the 2026 SFTC King & Queen Competition series.
The course takes place within the state park, which remains open for the event with limited access. Participants follow a single distance:
- 5 miles
Registration options allow participants to choose whether to include a sweatshirt with their entry. A base fee applies for the race, with an additional cost for the garment. Members of the State of Franklin Track Club receive a small discount on the base registration price.
The event provides a medal to every runner upon reaching the finish line. While there is no formal age group awards ceremony due to park access limitations, the overall male and female winners are recognized with trophies. A donation jar is available on-site for the "Friends of the Park" organization to assist with park restoration efforts. No refunds are provided for registration fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
