5th Annual Suicide Awareness Walk : Decatur, TX
The Center for Emotional Wellness organizes the 5th Annual Suicide Awareness Walk on September 15, 2026, at the Wise County Courthouse on the Decatur Square, 101 N Trinity St, Decatur, TX 76234. The event aims to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention, honor lives affected by suicide, and include a community luminary lighting to close the evening.
The event program includes a One Mile walk and a 5K. Run2Win Timing will provide official 5K participant times for personal tracking; no awards will be given. The One Mile is free to participate but requires registration to receive a luminary, goodie bag, and to sign the waiver. T-shirt and registration information:
- One Mile: free to participate, register to receive a luminary and goodie bag.
- 5K: early registration $35 includes a T-shirt and official personal race time; late registration $40, T-shirt availability not guaranteed. One Mile T-shirts are available for purchase for $25.
The evening will also feature live music and a variety of vendors. Groups and those walking in honor of someone may create or join teams. Registration windows run from early July through September 15, with early registration in July–August and late registration August 24–September 15. Registration may close early if capacity is reached. Sponsorship packages are offered at multiple levels with associated visibility and benefits.
