About the race
The 5th Annual Suicide Awareness Walk is presented by CENTER FOR EMOTIONAL WELLNESS and takes place on September 15, 2026 at the Wise County Courthouse on the Decatur Square, 101 N Trinity St, Decatur, TX 76234. The event brings the community together to raise awareness about mental health, support suicide prevention efforts, and honor lives affected by suicide. The evening concludes with a luminary lighting.
The event offers two distances:
- One Mile
- 5K
The One Mile walk is free with registration required to receive a luminary, a goodie bag, and to sign the waiver; T-shirts are available for purchase for $25. The 5K has an early registration fee of $35 and a late registration fee of $40; 5K registration includes a T-shirt and an official personal race time. Official 5K participant times are provided by Run2Win Timing; no awards will be given and timing is for personal tracking only. Early registration runs through August 23, with late registration continuing through September 15; registration may close early if capacity is reached. Participants may create or join teams. The program also features vendors, live music, and sponsor-supported event materials. Sponsorship tiers listed include Platinum $5000, Gold $2500, Silver $1500, and Bronze $500 with varying logo placement on event materials and shirts.
