5th Annual Suicide Awareness Walk - Decatur
The event is presented by the Center for Emotional Wellness and takes place on September 15, 2026, at the Wise County Courthouse on the Decatur Square, 101 N Trinity St, Decatur, TX 76234. The walk focuses on raising awareness about mental health, supporting suicide prevention efforts, and honoring lives affected by suicide.
Distances offered:
- One Mile walk - free; luminary and goodie bag with registration
- 5K - timed event; includes T-shirt and official personal race time
Run2Win Timing will provide official 5K participant times for personal tracking; no awards will be given. The One Mile requires registration to receive a luminary, a goodie bag, and to complete a waiver. T-shirts are available for purchase for the One Mile and are included with early 5K registration; late 5K registration has higher cost and T-shirt availability is not guaranteed. Early registration runs July 6 to August 23 and late registration runs August 24 to September 15; registration may close early if capacity is reached.
The evening program includes live music, a range of vendors, and a luminary lighting to close the night. Sponsorship levels are listed with benefits and prices ranging from $500 to $5,000.
