Suffer on Centennial : Overview
Suffer on Centennial is a trail running event held in Whiteshell Provincial Park, Manitoba. The event includes point to point and loop formats with starts near Alfred Hole and a finish at Falcon Trails.
Distances offered:
- 100 km point to point, solo or relay up to six runners.
- 50 km point to point.
- 25 km two lap course.
- 8 km one lap course.
The routes run across Canadian Shield terrain on a mix of single track and flowy runnable trails with under 1 km of road. Course features include technical rocky sections, roots, wet boreal forest, exposed granite ridgelines, short punchy climbs and some scramble sections. The first half of the 100 km is more technical and remote; aid stations in that section can be about 16 km apart. The 2026 routes use a new connector trail east of Falcon Lake.
Event services include stocked aid stations, finisher medals or trophies by distance, a custom race shirt for all entrants, included professional course photography and a race day food voucher. Total course cutoffs are 18 hours for the 100 km and 16 hours for the 50 km; there are no cutoffs for the 25 km and 8 km.
Mandatory gear requirements are specified for longer distances. Examples include a minimum carried fluid volume for 50 km and 100 km runners, a starting caloric reserve, and for 100 km runners a cellphone with data and a packable waterproof layer.
