Suffer on Centennial
Suffer on Centennial is a trail running event held in Whiteshell Provincial Park on Treaty No. 3 land, about 160 km east of Winnipeg. The race uses mostly single-track and flowy runnable trails with under 1 km of roads across the routes.
Distances offered include:
- 100km point to point
- 100km relay teams up to 6 runners
- 50km point to point
- 25km two-lap route
- 8km single short trail loop
The courses feature a mix of technical rooty and wet boreal forest, exposed granite ridgelines, short punchy climbs and scramble sections. The 2026 route adds a new connector trail east of Falcon Lake. Early sections of the 100km are rugged and remote with minimal cell service for the first 50 km and aid stations that can be around 16 km apart.
Aid stations are stocked and some provide crew and washroom access while others have no parking. Drop bag and crew procedures are specified for longer distances. Pacers are allowed for the 100km beginning near the midway aid station. Cutoff policies are based on total moving time with a maximum of 18 hours for the 100km and 16 hours for the 50km. Mandatory gear lists require minimum hydration and basic safety items; specific requirements vary by distance. Participants are expected to follow trail etiquette and Leave No Trace principles.
