Memorial 5K Run/Walk for CMV Awareness
This event is a memorial 5K run/walk held on June 20, 2026 in Owensboro, Kentucky at the Adkisson Greenbelt Park West Trail. The course is an out and back on the paved Greenbelt, beginning at the Joe Ford Nature Center with the turnaround at the 5th Street and Carter Avenue crossing. The distance is 3.1 miles.
The event raises awareness and funds to support congenital CMV research, education, and prevention efforts. Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes on June 20, 2026. The listed registration fee is $25. Participants who register by May 31 are guaranteed a race shirt; there is a $30 race day registration fee payable by cash or check and shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants.
Pre packet pickup is available the day before the race at Terry’s Tees, 1359 E 4th St, Owensboro, KY 42303. Race day check in and registration take place at Joe Ford Nature Park. Parking is available at Joe Ford Nature Park, 3870 West 2nd Street, Owensboro, KY 42301, and at GRADD, 300 Gradd Way, Owensboro, KY 42301.
Awards include an overall top male and top female gift card to Legends Outfitters of Active People, and the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 1-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70-99. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
