Strides for Pride 5K
The Strides for Pride 5K is an annual community event held in Jacksonville, Florida. Now in its 15th year, this family-friendly celebration takes place at the Northbank Riverwalk Artist Square, specifically within the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) space under the Fuller Warren Bridge. The event serves as a fundraiser to support LGBTQIA+ teens and young adults at JASMYN, a local neighborhood safe place.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5 km run or walk
- 1 mile fun run or walk
The event features a Vendor Village and a pre-event stretch session held on the RAM stage. For those participating in the 5 km, rankings are provided by Top 3 Overall and by age groupings up to 75 and over, following USA Track & Field categories. Results are based on official gun time.
All registered participants receive a race shirt at packet pick-up, and all bibbed runners and walkers who cross the finish line receive a medal. Specialized awards are also presented for the largest running teams, largest GSA running teams, and top fundraisers.
The course is open to runners with strollers, though they are asked to remain to the side or rear of the pack for safety. For the safety of all participants, dogs are not permitted on the race course. Free parking is available on nearby streets and at the Florida Blue parking garage during specific morning hours.
