Get Lit New Year's Day Celebration - East Peoria
Get Lit is a community New Year’s Day celebration held at the Fondulac Golf Course Clubhouse and Winter Wonderland park in East Peoria. The event marks the 26th anniversary and combines a short organized run/walk with on-site winter activities.
The run/walk is an organized, unofficially timed 1 mile course with lighted medallions awarded to the first 175 finishers. Only registered run/walk participants are allowed on the course during the event. Participation in the run/walk is optional for those taking part in the overall celebration.
On-site amenities include fire pits, s’mores, marshmallows, hot cocoa and other bonfire treats. Packet pick-up is located at the Fondulac Golf Course Clubhouse, and walk-up registration is handled at the Winter Wonderland ticket booth. A trolley will operate for participants to view the lighted displays.
Entry options are listed separately: one option includes a 26th Anniversary long-sleeved Get Lit shirt and a lower-cost option without a shirt; a limited number of shirts may be available on New Year’s Day. Bib numbers, bonfire treats and trolley rides are available to participants. No dogs are allowed. Participants must clear the course before the Winter Wonderland reopens to vehicular traffic.
