Get Lit New Year's Day Celebration : East Peoria
This is the 26th anniversary Get Lit event held in East Peoria. The gathering centers on a lighted Winter Wonderland experience with fire pits, s'mores, marshmallows and hot cocoa. Trolley rides are available for participants to view the lighted displays. Bib numbers and bonfire treats are provided.
The event includes an organized, group-start, unofficially timed one mile fun run or walk that awards lighted medallions to the first 175 finishers. Participation in the run or walk is optional and the one mile course runs through the Winter Wonderland. At the organized start the course is reserved for run and walk participants and later reopens to other Get Lit attendees before the area returns to vehicular traffic.
Shirts are available to a limited number of participants, with a shirt reserved for the first 175 pre-registered entrants and a limited supply on the day of the event. Packet pick-up for pre-registered participants is at the Fondulac golf course clubhouse. Walk-in registration is handled at the ticket booth to the Winter Wonderland.
