Strides for Inclusion 5K Run-Walk-Roll
The Strides for Inclusion 5K Run-Walk-Roll takes place in Punta Gorda, Florida. Organized by Pathways to Opportunity, this event supports a life skills development program for individuals with various disabilities, including Down Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injuries. The initiative focuses on fostering personal growth and community integration for all participants.
Participants can choose between two primary distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K Run/Walk)
- 1 Mile (Untimed Run-Walk-Roll)
The event features a course that begins in Founders Square and concludes on the Founders Square boardwalk. The 3.1 Miles race is chip-timed by a professional timing service. Competitive participants in the 5K distance are eligible for awards, which are presented to the overall male and female winners. Additionally, awards are provided for the top three male and female finishers across several age categories, ranging from the 0-9 group up to 80+.
Registered participants receive an event shirt, provided they sign up by the designated cutoff date of May 6th. Financial structure for the event includes age-based pricing for individuals 18 years old and under, as well as discounts for local running clubs.
