Stride Forward - North Tonawanda
Stride Forward is the inaugural 5K hosted by the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier, held on April 17, 2027, in downtown North Tonawanda. The start and finish are near 49 Tremont St. The course begins on Tremont Street next to the First United Methodist Church (65 Main St), proceeds down a neighboring side street onto Sweeney Street, follows a flat out and back route alongside the Historic Erie Canal, and returns to the original location.
Registration opens October 1, 2026. Fees are listed by period: Early Bird $30 through December 31, 2026; General $35 from January 1 through March 31, 2027; Late $45 from April 1 to April 16, 2027. Registration includes an adult unisex t-shirt, a goody bag, and a finisher's medal. A fundraising promo for free entry is available during registration. The event is professionally timed; all finishers receive a custom finisher's medal and awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Packet pick up is available April 15 and 16 at the YWCA building (49 Tremont St) inside Sprinkles Cafe, and race day packet pick up is available at the on-site registration booth prior to the start. Post race activities on Tremont Street in front of the YWCA include food and drinks, live music, a basket raffle inside Sprinkles Cafe, community connections, and award presentations. There is free street parking and city lots in the surrounding downtown area. All proceeds benefit the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier, which provides services in gender equality, education, crisis services, childcare, and related programming.
