Stride for Hope 5K & Homecoming Festival

Academy of Hope hosts an inaugural community event on Saturday, April 25 at Anacostia Park, 1900 Anacostia Drive, Washington, DC 20020. The program combines a 5K Run/Walk with a Homecoming Festival and is presented as family friendly.

The event supports Academy of Hope’s mission to empower adult learners through education, career training, and wraparound support services. Funds raised are designated for programs that build literacy skills, enable learners to earn high school credentials, and open new career pathways for adults in Washington, DC.

The day includes a 5K Run/Walk followed by a transition zone with music, snacks, vendor set up, and storytelling. The Homecoming Festival features a main stage program with a Vision 2030 launch, alumni and partner recognition and awards, DJ and musical acts, and a raffle later in the day. An Alumni Vendor Village will host more than 20 graduate owned business booths offering artisan goods, food, and services.

Vendor applications are open with a limited number of complimentary community vendor spaces available. Applications are subject to review by the Homecoming Committee and notifications of acceptance will be distributed on or before April 1, 2026.
