Stride for Hope 5K & Homecoming Festival
The Stride for Hope event on Saturday, April 25 is Academy of Hope’s inaugural 5K Run/Walk and Homecoming Festival at Anacostia Park, 1900 Anacostia Dr, Washington, DC 20020. The family-friendly day combines a community 5K, awards, a covered Homecoming Festival, live performances, and panel conversations in support of Academy of Hope’s mission to empower adult learners through education, career training, and support services.
Funds raised from the event support programs that help adult learners build literacy skills, earn high-school credentials, and pursue new career pathways. The festival area is covered with tents so weather will not interrupt performances or community activities, and the overall event is presented rain or shine.
Festival programming includes stage performances, in-conversation panels, and a headliner act listed as Black Alley. A Skate Pavilion activation offers a silent disco with three music streams; participants must bring their own skates and a valid state ID. Vendor applications are open for limited spaces, with a number of complimentary community vendor opportunities available and notifications of acceptance scheduled by April 1, 2026.
