Streetlight 5K & Frolic
The Streetlight 5K & Frolic is an evening event held in Downtown Concord. Participants can choose between two main running activities:
- 5K Road Race
- 1 Mile Fun Run
The 5K course follows a route down Union Street South to Oakland Avenue, continues around R Brown Elementary School, and returns via Union Street to the finish line in the downtown area. This course holds a formal certification (NC25013DF).
Participants who register before the designated deadline have the option to receive a race shirt, with choices including a women's racerback tank top or a men's sleeveless shirt. The event also facilitates inclusion through the Speed for Need program, which provides customized racing wheelchairs and runners to assist participants with special needs.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in various age categories starting from 10 and under up to 75 and over. Specific divisions for Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), and Senior Grand Masters (60+) are also recognized.
The event coincides with the Downtown Concord Social District, where local businesses provide options for on-the-go beverages. Additional activities for all ages take place during the Frolic portion of the evening. Packet pickup is available on the days leading up to the race and on the day of the event at a local studio.
