Streetlight 5K & Frolic
The Streetlight 5K & Frolic takes place on July 11 in Downtown Concord at the Cabarrus County Courthouse, 61 Union Street South. The event program includes a certified road 5K and a 1-mile Fun Run, along with a Frolic event whose details will be announced.
Distances:
- 5K road race following Union Street South to Oakland Avenue, around R Brown Elementary School, and returning on Union Street.
- 1 Mile Fun Run in downtown Concord.
Registration for the 5K opens February 1 and closes July 10; Fun Run registration opens February 1 and closes on July 11. The published registration fee for the 5K is $20 and the Fun Run is free. Registrations after June 19 incur a $10 increase on race day while supplies last. Card payment only is accepted on race day. Registration via QR code is handled at The Lenz Studio at 70 Union Street South.
Optional race shirt choices are offered this year, including a women's racerback tank top and a men's sleeveless shirt; participants must register before the shirt deadline to receive these options. Register by June 19 to be guaranteed a race shirt.
The 5K carries certification number NC25013DF. Speed for Need supplies customized racing wheelchairs for riders with special needs; wheelchair reservations are arranged through the event organizer. Awards are given to overall top three males and females and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group, with new Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), and Senior Grand Masters (60+) divisions for 2026.
