Channel The Holidays 5K, 1 Mile & Kids Run - Whitewater
Channel The Holidays is a trail-to-channel mixed-terrain foot race at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. Runners travel through the facility’s man-made channels without whitewater rapids; the course includes concrete channel sections with sudden steps, drop offs, inclines, uneven features and wet surfaces. Participants are expected to remain aware of these features and approach them with caution.

Registration options include pre-registration and race day registration with different fees by distance. Long-sleeve race shirts are guaranteed for those who pre-register by November 30, 2026. Hoodies are available as an add-on purchase. Registration includes access to a post-race hot chocolate bar; a post-race breakfast menu is available at the Pumphouse Biergarten.
All participants must sign the Whitewater Center Assumption of Risk Agreement before participating; the waiver is not part of the online registration form but may be printed and brought to packet pick-up or completed on site. Race registration is non-refundable. Trails remain open to other runners, hikers and bikers during the event and no e-bikes or other powered transportation are permitted. Events are scheduled to proceed rain or shine; the Whitewater Center may alter, reschedule or cancel events.
Parking at the Whitewater Center carries a daily fee; oversized parking has a higher fee. The center does not conduct trail rescues; participants must call 911 for emergencies.
Awards are given by age group for the 5K and as overall top finishers for the 1 mile and Kids Run; recipients must be present at the award ceremony to receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
