Strathaven Striders 'Run With the Wind' 10k - 01 Nov 2026
The event is a measured 10 km held on an out and back route to the north of Strathaven, using the same course introduced in 2023. The route passes through rolling farming countryside on quiet, undulating roads and the distance has been officially verified.
Race headquarters and registration are at Strathaven Bowling Club (ML10 6DP). The Bowling Club facilities will be used for registration, changing, toilets, post event refreshments and prizegiving. There is ample parking in public car parks throughout Strathaven; there is no car parking at the Bowling Club or the adjacent Leisure Centre. The start line is near Kirkland Park School and marshals and pipers will guide runners to the start area.
The race will be chip timed and results will be posted on the chip timers' website within 24 hours. All competitors receive a refreshment and a memento at the finish; a T shirt is being reintroduced as the finisher memento and sizes are requested at entry. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers overall and to first place male and female in each age group, with results showing overall and age group positions.
The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event. The organiser may reschedule the race in the event of adverse weather. Entries must be made through Entry Central by the stated closing date; there are no entries on race day. Total places available are 300. Discounted entry to 27 Oct 2026 is £17; standard entry is £20. The organiser pays a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) and entrants are not charged a surcharge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
