Strathaven Striders Run With The Wind 10K
The event is a certified 10 km road race held on an out and back route to the north of Strathaven, using the same course introduced in 2023. The route passes through rolling farming countryside on quiet, undulating roads and has been officially measured with the distance verified.
Race headquarters and registration are at Strathaven Bowling Club (ML10 6DP). The bowling club provides registration, changing facilities, toilets, post event refreshments and prizegiving. There is ample car parking in the public car parks throughout Strathaven; there is no car parking at the Bowling Club or the adjacent leisure centre. The start line is located near Kirkland Park School and marshals and pipers will be in place to guide competitors to the start.
The race will be chip timed and results will be posted on the chip timer provider’s website within 24 hours. All finishers will receive a refreshment and a memento at the finish. A finisher T shirt will be provided and sizes are requested during entry. Prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female overall finishers and to the first male and female in each age category. The event is organised under UK Athletics rules and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event. Entries are accepted through Entry Central and there are no entries on race day.
