Storybook Half Marathon - Roosevelt Forest, Stratford CT
The Storybook Half Marathon is a trail race held in Roosevelt Forest at 700 Peters Lane in Stratford, CT. The course is made of a 1.64-mile wooded loop on marked singletrack and doubletrack trails; runners complete eight loops to cover the 13.1-mile distance. The trail includes roots, rocks, and gently rolling hills, so some prior trail experience can be helpful though it is not required.
Aid and fueling are available at the main pavilion aid station, which is reached on every loop. Participants with specific dietary needs are advised to bring their own fueling. Porta potties are located near the pavilion. Parking is limited; larger vehicles should use the side lot and RVs are not permitted.
The event partners with Books4Everyone to collect new and gently used children’s books for delivery to schools, shelters, food banks, and community organizations across Fairfield County. Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the most notable outfits. Podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers. Every participant receives a Storybook Half Marathon medallion and non-alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewing, with additional swag and shirts available for purchase.
Registration is final with no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals. Participants must be 18 years or older to compete without a parental waiver. CDC, state, and local health guidance will be followed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
