Storybook Half Marathon : Roosevelt Forest, Stratford CT
The Storybook Half Marathon is a trail event held at Roosevelt Forest, 700 Peters Lane, Stratford, Connecticut. The race covers 13.1 miles completed as eight laps of a 1.64 mile wooded loop on marked singletrack and doubletrack trails. The loop includes roots, rocks, and gently rolling hills.
The main pavilion serves as the primary aid station; participants pass it each loop and will find hydration and snacks there. Runners are advised to bring personal fueling options if they have specific dietary needs. Porta potties are located near the pavilion. Parking is limited; larger vehicles should use the side lot and RVs are not permitted.
The event includes a book drive in partnership with Books4Everyone to collect new and gently used children’s books for delivery to schools, shelters, food banks, and community organizations across Fairfield County. Costumes are encouraged and prizes are awarded for the most notable costumes.
Finishers have up to four hours to complete the course. Race swag includes a Storybook Half Marathon medallion and non alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewing, with additional shirts and gear available for purchase. Podium prizes are given to the top three male and top three female finishers. Registration is final with no refunds, bib transfers, or deferrals.
