Event overview
Storm the Farm is a trail running event held at Briggs Outdoors in Winona, Minnesota on July 18, 2026. It is the second race in The Storm Trail Race Series and is organized by Storm Sporting Events, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2019 that raises funds for youth mental health programs. The event is ATRA Youth Trail Race certified; participants under 19 receive a 15% discount. Several distances qualify for the 2026 Upper Midwest Trail Runners Too Fun Trail Run Series.

Course and format
Races take place on private land at Briggs Outdoors, featuring steep climbs, open prairies, shaded single-track trails, and a crossing of Cedar Creek in the Driftless Region. The 10k+ loop includes two bluff climbs and a scenic valley; multiple loops of the 10k+ loop form the longer distances. The 5k uses one bluff climb plus double- and single-track valleys.
Services and rules
The event is cupless; runners must bring a reusable cup, bottle, or hydration gear. Aid stations offer snacks, water, Gu, and orange-flavored Tailwind; their locations differ by course and some are passed more than once on looped courses. There is no race-day registration - pre-registration is required. Dogs are not allowed on site. Race shirts are available for purchase during registration with an ordering cutoff of June 15, 2026. Thirty percent of each registration fee and all registration donations are donated to Hiawatha Valley Mental Health Center for youth programs.
