Storm the Day
Storm the Day is a fixed-time loop event in Winona, MN held on October 10, 2026. It is the fourth of five events in the Storm Trail Race Series. The event runs from sunrise to sunset and participants complete a 2.50 mile loop as many times as they choose within that period.
Participants may register as individuals or as relay teams. Team size is limited to five members. A Family Relay division requires at least one participant under age 18 who must complete at least one loop. Relay entrants receive a $10 registration discount. Family Relay pricing for those 18 and under is listed by age group: 4 and under $5 plus fees, 5–10 $15 plus fees, and 11–18 $25 plus fees.
The course is described as the flattest of the four races in the series. A large area is available for tents or personal aid stations. Event-provided aid at the start/finish includes typical snacks such as PB&J sandwiches, chips, and cookies. The event is cupless; participants should bring a reusable cup, refillable bottle, or hydration gear. Silicone cups will be available for purchase at check-in.
Participants receive a warm lunch from a local sandwich shop and a pizza supper. Camping is available through Prairie Island Campground for the nights before and after the event. Post-race activities include food and live music. Thirty percent of each registration fee and all registration donations will be donated to the Prairie Island Adventure Club, a youth outdoor program for ages 5 to 14.
