Storm the Castle 5K Walk/Run
The Storm the Castle 5K Walk/Run is an annual event held in Peoria, Illinois. Now in its 14th year, the event takes place at Richwoods High School. The course begins and finishes at the soccer field, which is referred to as The Castle. Recent upgrades to the venue include a leveled and crowned pitch, a specialized watering system, team shelters, lighting, training walls, and a new concessions building.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run
- Walk ONLY
The event uses chip timing for the running category. The proceeds from the registration fees are designated for the Richwoods High School Soccer Program and ongoing field improvement projects. These funds support the maintenance of the facilities and the development of the athletic grounds.
Participants can collect their race packets at the Richwoods High School Cafeteria. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Friday evening prior to the event and on the morning of the race. Access to the cafeteria for pickup is located at the back entrance of the school near the practice football field. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
