Stone Mountain Massacre
Stone Mountain Massacre is a trail running event in Roaring Gap, NC, organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras and scheduled for February 6, 2027. The event offers multiple race distances on mountain trails that pass near the Visitor Center and use named routes including the Bypass Trail, Stone Mountain Loop, Wolf Creek, and the Mountain-to-Sea Trail.

- 50K Full Quest with the Six Stones challenge
The 50K includes a specific Quest of the Six Stones. Runners in that distance carry a Protection Stone and may collect six Stone Tokens located at aid stations. An optional handcrafted Blood Book and a one-of-a-kind pottery finisher medal made by BlueGill Pottery are associated with completing the full quest.
Course details note an ascent that includes a 300-step section and approximate elevation gain of 1,530 ft per loop. Trails are marked with red ribbons and yellow arrows. Trail conditions may include ice, fog, and mud.
There are five aid stations, two manned and three unmanned, each holding a Stone Token. Supplies listed at aid stations include pickles, bacon, candy, cereal, fruit, water, Tailwind, and soda. First aid is provided on course and entrants should notify staff if they drop.
Event rules include no dogs, no strollers, no refunds for weather, trekking poles allowed, bibs worn on the front, and only registered runners may compete. Registration closes February 1, 2027.
