Trail Running Along the Yadkin River
The Hog Run at the Yadkin River is a community athletic event held in Jonesville, North Carolina. Participants have the option to take part in two distinct distances:
- 5k trail race
- 1 Mile Fun Run or Walk
The course follows a trail along the Yadkin River and features a variety of surfaces. Runners encounter sections of pea gravel, grass, and packed dirt throughout the route. Participants are encouraged to wear pig-themed costumes during their run, and a prize is awarded for the best-dressed individual.
Registration is open to the general public, and those who register by October 23rd are guaranteed an event t-shirt. For the competitive segments, medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers as well as the top three male and female finishers in each age group.
The event prohibits the presence of dogs and strollers on the course. Proceeds from the registration fees are used to provide Christmas ham meals for local families in need within the Jonesville area. The event venue is located at 116 Plaza Street.
