Stone Cross to Lug - Relay
This is a three leg mountain relay across County Wicklow from Stone Cross to Lug. The full course distance is 49.00 km with 2,170 m of climb. The event is rated Extreme and the route is not marked. GPS devices are not allowed.
Leg changeovers and route features include Sally Gap and Turlough Hill carpark; the finish and prizegiving are at Fenton's Bar in Glen of Imaal. The start area and registration location is Seehan Forest.
Each leg follows defined mountain tracks and summits. The legs and approximate distances are:
- Leg 1: 13.18 km - Start 2 km south of Stone Cross, end Sally Gap crossroads
- Leg 2: 15.99 km - Start Sally Gap crossroads, end Turlough Hill carpark
- Leg 3: 20.15 km - Start Turlough Hill carpark, finish Fenton's Bar
A Level C mandatory kit list applies and must be carried as required. Required items include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number, foil blanket or bivvy bag, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry at least 500 mL water, emergency food, map and compass. The exact kit to be carried on the day may be finalised and advised at registration.
There will be safety cutoffs at checkpoints. Random kit checks may be carried out and failure to carry required items may result in denied entry or disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
