Stomp the Stigma 5K
The GFH Annual Stomp the Stigma 5K Walk/Run is a community event held in Forney, Texas, at 6170 Falcon Way. This initiative is organized by Grace for Healing Counseling and Consulting Services in partnership with Forney ISD. The primary goal of the event is to support and provide access to mental health services for local student-athletes who balance the pressures of academics and athletics but may not be able to afford such services.
The event features a 5K course that accommodates both walkers and runners. Participants can select from different registration tiers based on their preferences for the day. One registration option, referred to as the Stigma Crusher, provides the participant with the 5K entry, an official event t-shirt, and a water bottle. Another option allows for participation in the movement activities without the race merchandise.
Following the physical activity, the event includes a Post-Run Family Fun Day and Mental Health Resource Fair. This portion of the day offers community members access to wellness resources, motivation, and interactive activities. Vendors are also present at the site to share information and engage with attendees. The event focuses on community healing and raising awareness for mental health support within the local school district's athletic programs.
