Event Details
The Steyning Stinger is a trail running event that takes place on a Sunday in early March. The event includes a marathon, a 30k race, and a half marathon. The 2026 edition is scheduled for March 8th.
Course and Race Information
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and conducted under UK Athletics rules. It is a registered UTMB Index event for the marathon, 30k, and half marathon distances. Detailed GPX route files for each distance are available.
The course features several official aid stations. These are located at Washington (A24), North Farm (A24), Cissbury Ring CP, Bostal Road CP, and Upper Beeches. A number of additional points along the route will be marshaled, including Wiston House, Chanctonbury Ring Road, and Steep Down.
Additional Information
Entrants receive a race medal manufactured in the UK from sustainable materials. Event photography is taken on the day and is available for competitors to download for free. A technical running t-shirt is available for purchase alongside entry, produced by a social enterprise providing work opportunities for severely disabled adults.
