Event details
The Steyning Stinger takes place on Sunday 8 March 2026 near Steyning on the South Downs. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and is licensed by the Trail Running Association. The Marathon, 30k and Half Marathon are registered UTMB Index events. Entrants must be 18 or over. Entries close at midday on 6 March 2026 and there will be no entries on the day. Cut-off times apply for the longer distances. Entry benefits listed include a finishers medal, post-event breakfast and photo download.

All events run on multi-terrain courses across the South Downs. GPX files are provided for the marathon, half marathon and 30k routes. Drinks stations are located at a sequence of points on the marathon course (for example Washington (A24), North Farm, Cissbury Ring CP, Bostal Road CP, Upper Beeches) with the marathon finish at 26.2 miles. Several marshal points are also listed, including Wiston House, Chanctonbury Ring Road and Worthing Golf Course. Race photography will be taken on the day and competitors can download photos for free. The event medal is manufactured in the UK from sustainable materials.
