Steps Toward Healing 5K Run/Walk
Steps Toward Healing is a 5K run and walk held at Eisenhower Park, Parking Field 2, in East Meadow, NY. The event proceeds rain or shine and is organized as a memorial walk to honor children, siblings, and loved ones who have died and to stand with COPE families in their healing. Participants are encouraged to bring a small photo for a shared memory board.
Event amenities include T shirts for registrants who register before March 22, restrooms, free parking with handicap spaces, swag and snack bags, live and text and email results, free finish line photos, and personalized bibs for those who register three weeks in advance. Results and same day finish line photos are available online and by text or email.
Age group recognition is provided online for the top man and woman overall and for top men and women in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 to 89, and 90 plus.
Bib pickup is handled by event staff starting one hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup and last minute registrants (within 24 hours) receive their bib number by text within 90 seconds. Dogs are not permitted in Eisenhower Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
