About the race
The Steps Toward Healing 5K Run/Walk is a community remembrance event held at Eisenhower Park, Parking Field 2 in East Meadow, NY. The event combines a timed 5K run and a noncompetitive walk to honor children, siblings, and other loved ones who have died and to support COPE families in their healing.
Amenities for registrants include T shirts for those registered before March 22, restrooms, free and handicap parking, swag and snack bags, live online, text, and email results, and free finish line photos. Personalized bibs are available for those who register three weeks in advance. Event staff manage bib pickup in the hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup and can be found via online lookup. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours can receive a bib number by text.
Online age group recognition is provided for the top male and top female overall and for top male and female in age categories from 14 and under through 90 and over. Dogs are not permitted in Eisenhower Park. A memory board is available for small photos of loved ones to be placed during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
