Steps Toward Healing 5K Run/Walk
Steps Toward Healing is a 5K run/walk held at Eisenhower Park, Parking Field 2, in East Meadow, NY. The event is scheduled in April and focuses on honoring children, siblings, and loved ones who have died while supporting COPE families. Participants may bring a small photo of a loved one for a memory board.
Registration is not yet open. The event offers several participant amenities including T-shirts for those who register before March 22, restrooms, free parking with handicap spaces, swag or snack bags, and free finish line photos. Live results are available online and via text or email.
Age-group recognition is awarded online for top finishers in overall categories and in multiple age brackets, including 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, and 90 plus.
Bib pickup is organized by event staff beginning one hour before the event. Registrants who sign up three weeks in advance may receive a personalized bib. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours can receive a bib number by text within about 90 seconds.
