Event Overview
Steps 2 Safety is a walk and run event held at Minto-Brown Island Park in Salem, Oregon. The event serves to raise awareness for domestic and sexual violence, with all proceeds benefiting the Center for Hope & Safety and the Marion County Domestic Violence Council initiatives. These organizations provide emergency shelter, a 24-hour hotline, and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.

Participant Information
The event offers two main categories for entry. Adult and youth entry fees include a race t-shirt. For those who register by early September, shirt sizes are guaranteed; participants who register after this date receive shirts based on available sizes. There is a registration discount for participants aged 6 to 15, and children aged 5 and under can participate for free.
Logistics
The event takes place at Minto-Brown Island Park Shelter #3. Pre-registered participants can pick up their race packets, which contain a race bib, safety pins, and a t-shirt, at the pre-registration booth on the morning of the event. In-person registration is also available on-site before the start. The activities begin with opening remarks from the Center for Hope & Safety followed by the start of the walk and run.
