About the race
PREP (Piedmont Regional Education Program) is a regional public program that partners with local school divisions to deliver educational services that support the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of each child it serves. PREP provides evidence-based services to help students with disabilities build lifelong skills. Ivy Creek School delivers special education and related services for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in grades K-12 through a collaborative treatment-team approach that combines individual and group counseling with structured academic support. The event titled "Step Up with PREP 5K" is a community run/walk held in Charlottesville at Darden Towe Park on October 24, 2026.
