About the race
Step Up & Support 4-H is a weeklong step challenge held September 13–19, 2026 with location listed as Anywhere, Athens, GA 30602. Participants walk or run anywhere at any pace to accumulate steps during the seven-day period. All participants must record daily totals and submit a seven-day total of at least 18,600 steps (approximately 15K) to be eligible for race points and placing by age group. Unlimited mileage counts as 15K for scoring and is noted as triple points.
Steps accrued while running other races are allowed. No points are awarded for a weekly total below 18,600 steps. Points are awarded using a traditional scale for a 15K race for those meeting the step minimum.
Awards and benefits include a pair of 4-H socks for all registered participants who submit at least 18,600 steps. The overall winner receives a $50 Shop 4-H gift certificate. Winners in masters (over 40) and grandmasters (over 50) categories receive a premium 4-H item. Registration has a fee of $24.44, and all proceeds support Georgia 4-Hers.
