Step into Christmas : Southbourne Beach, Bournemouth
Step into Christmas is set on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne Beach in Bournemouth, Dorset. The route is a flat, tarmacked out-and-back along the prom with coastal views and no elevation gain or loss.
Participants may choose their own distance on repeated laps. Lap details:
- 5K to ultra-marathon distance options available
- Lap length 5.3 km (3.28 miles) per out-and-back circuit
Race logistics include number pick-up on the day at race registration before starting. An aid and drinks table will be located at the start/finish of each lap offering a selection of savoury and sweet items. There is also an area to leave personal items; attendees should bring their own cups as plastic cups are not provided. Public toilets and showers are available along the promenade. Final instructions will be sent by email before the event.
The route is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers so it counts as a road marathon for 100 Marathon Club purposes. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
