Step into Christmas
Step into Christmas is a running event on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne Beach, Bournemouth, Dorset. The route is an out-and-back along the prom with coastal views. The course is tarmacked and has no elevation gain or loss. The route is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers and counts as a road marathon for 100 Marathon Club purposes.
Participants may choose their own distance. All finishers of a lap or more receive a medal.
Course, facilities and entry
Laps are 5.3 km (3.28 miles). The organiser provides an aid and drinks table at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of savoury and sweet items. There is an area to leave personal items. The organiser does not provide plastic cups. Public toilets and showers are available along the promenade. Number pick-up is on the day at race registration. Final instructions will be sent by email before the event. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under, in line with UK Athletics rules.
