Step into Christmas : Southbourne Beach, Bournemouth
Step into Christmas is held on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne Beach, to the east of Bournemouth. The route is tarmacked and flat, running as an out and back along the prom with coastal views. Laps are 5.3 km (3.28 miles) and the route has no elevation gain or loss.
Participants may choose their own distance, from shorter runs up to ultra-marathon distances. All finishers of one lap or more receive a medal. The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers and counts as a road marathon for 100 Marathon Club purposes.
Race day arrangements include number collection on the day at race registration and an aid and drinks table at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of savoury and sweet items. An area is provided to leave personal items. Organisers do not provide single use plastic cups; participants are asked to bring their own.
Public toilets and showers are available along the promenade. Practical information notes paid and on-street parking near the start and finish and lists Warren Edge carpark as the nearest carpark. Nearest rail stations are Christchurch and Pokesdown for Boscombe. Final instructions will be sent by email before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
