Step into Christmas : Southbourne Beach, Bournemouth

Set on the beachfront promenade at Southbourne (SoBo) to the east of Bournemouth, this event uses a flat, tarmacked out and back route along the prom with coastal views. The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers and therefore counts as a road marathon for 100 Marathon Club purposes.

Participants may choose their own distance on the day, selecting any length from 5 km up to ultra marathon. Laps are 5.3 km (3.28 miles) each and the route has no elevation gain or loss.

There is an aid and drinks table at the start and finish of each lap with a selection of savoury and sweet items, and an area to leave personal items. Organisers do not provide plastic cups. Public toilets and showers are available along the promenade.

Race numbers are collected on the day at race registration before starting. Final instructions are sent by email before the event. Distance restrictions apply for participants aged 20 or under in line with UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
