Stennis Space Center Marathon
The event takes place Saturday, November 28, 2026 at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi, with race facilities at Building 2411, Cypress House.
Distances offered:
- 26.2 miles Marathon
- 13.1 miles Half Marathon and Half Marathon Race Walkers
- 3.1 miles 5K Runners and 5K Race Walkers
The marathon runs around the perimeter of the Space Center on paved roads through wooded areas where wildlife sightings are common. The course is flat and all three courses are certified. Typical race day temperatures range from the upper 50s to the lower 70s.
Course services include aid stations approximately every two miles providing Kentwood Springs water, Gatorade, bananas, and port o lets. Mile markers and directional signs are in place, medical staff are supplied by AMR, and there is communications at each aid station. The races are sanctioned by the Road Runners Club of America and U.S.A.T.F. The marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier. The marathon has a seven hour time limit and requires participants to be at least 18 years of age; no walkers are allowed in the marathon. The half marathon and half marathon race walkers also have a seven hour time limit.
Timing is chip based by Pelican Timing Services. No day of race registration is available. Pre race packet pickup is available Friday, November 27 at the Mississippi Welcome Center and package pickup is available race day at the Cypress House. Colorful long sleeve tee shirts are provided to participants. Post race refreshments include red beans and rice plus beverages and fruit. Awards include custom plaques and medallions for marathon and half marathon finishers and age group awards three deep for the marathon, half marathon, and 5K.
