Steel Magnolia Run

The Steel Magnolia Run is an annual athletic event organized by the NRMC Foundation, entering its sixth year of operation. The race takes place at the Natchitoches Riverbank in Louisiana. This event offers tiered activities for various participation levels, including competitive running, walking, and a virtual option.

Participants can choose from the following distances:

  • 5k (3.1 miles)
  • 1 Mile Fun Run

The 5k event provides awards for the overall male and female finishers. Recognition is also given to the first, second, and third-place finishers within specific age categories. These brackets include participants aged 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and above. For the 1 Mile Fun Run, awards are presented to the overall top male and female participants.

A virtual runner category serves as a non-competitive alternative for individuals who wish to support the NRMC Foundation and receive an event shirt without being physically present for the run or walk. Distribution of event materials, including swag bags, occurs at the NRMC Human Resource Building on East 5th Street on the day prior to the race, with additional pick-up and registration options available at the race site on the morning of the event. All proceeds from the race are directed to the NRMC Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
