Steel City Human vs Horse is a combined trail running and horseback endurance event held on August 1, 2026 in Burgettstown, PA. Runners and riders start together on the same course to compare completion times in simultaneous competition.
Distances offered for both runners and riders include:

The course is a mix of single track, gravel road, and grassy meadow. Runners do not need prior experience with horses. All participants must attend a pre-race safety meeting to review trail etiquette and safety procedures. The equestrian portion is sanctioned by the American Endurance Ride Conference.
Camping is available for both horses and people. The event is planned to run rain or shine; organizers may reroute to gravel roads if trail conditions would be dangerous or damaging. A late fee applies to entries received after July 19. Refund and transfer policies include a full refund less processing fees until July 1, a refund less $50 and processing fees for ride expenses until July 24, and no refunds after July 24. Bib transfers and horse changes are allowed without fee until July 24. Switching distances is permitted with fee adjustments and deadlines.
