About the race
Allen T. Allison Elementary School, in partnership with Chester Hometown Christmas, presents the 4th Annual ATA Jingle Bell Jog in Chester, West Virginia. The event is a community 3.1 miles run or run/walk with a separate walker category held on Saturday, December 5, 2026.
Previous editions have drawn roughly 200 participants and organizers anticipate further growth. The course uses paved city streets and is described as stroller friendly. The route starts near The Twisted Fork on Carolina Avenue, proceeds down Collin's Memorial Drive, includes a loop through the upper end of Chester via 11th Street, Neptune Avenue, 8th Street, and Plutus Avenue, then returns to Carolina Avenue (Route 2), continues through town past the 3rd Street intersection to 3rd and California, follows 3rd and California to 1st and California, and returns to Carolina Avenue for the finish near the start. Registration pricing is tiered: Early Bird through November 8 is $20, regular registration through December 4 is $25, and race day registration is $30. Run/walk participants must register as runners.
A t shirt is guaranteed only for registrations completed by November 8; shirts after that date are first come, first served and upgrades are available for an additional fee. Race packets include cookies and hot chocolate. All proceeds benefit the ATA PTA. Race packet pickup is available early near Allison Elementary the week of the race and on race day beginning at 7:30.
Age groups range from youth categories through 60 plus. Medals are awarded to 1st through 3rd place male and female in running categories and to the top three walkers overall, with an additional prize for the most festive participant.
