Steak Sprint 5K in Dobson, North Carolina
The Steak Sprint is a new addition to the North Carolina Ground Steak Festival and serves as the opening race for the festival's fourth year. The event features a 5K course that runs through Dobson Square Park, nearby neighborhoods, and Surry Community College, with about 130 feet in elevation change.
The festival atmosphere includes the ground steak sandwich, local food vendors, craft vendors, and live music following the race. Registration fee levels are listed as Earlybird $25 for 3/31 to 5/1 and Standard $30 for 5/2 to 6/11. Registrants who register through 5/31 receive a race t shirt.
Packet pickup is available early at Dobson Town Hall, 307 N Main St, Dobson NC, on June 12, and on race day at Simpson Insurance Shelter, 110 S. Crutchfield, Dobson NC, on June 13. Race awards include top three overall male and female finishers plus top three male and female in age groups 14 and under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 plus.
Pets are not allowed at Dobson Square Park or on the race course. Results can be posted automatically on race day for participants who connect a Twitter account. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
