Event Overview

The Rosy Cheeks 5K is a community run and toy drive event in Mount Airy, North Carolina. This is the 19th annual edition of the event. It is sponsored by Mount Airy Parks and Recreation and supports the Mount Airy Police Department Toy Drive.

Event Details

The event features a 5K run and a free Kid's 1/2 Mile Jingle Jog Fun Run.

Registration for the 5K costs $25 plus a toy donation. The fee includes a long-sleeve performance race t-shirt, and participants choose between a "Team Naughty" or "Team Nice" design. Participants in the free fun run can purchase the same t-shirt for $20, with a cutoff date for shirt purchases.

All participants are asked to bring an unwrapped toy, gift, or gift card for a child of elementary, middle, or high school age. Toys can be collected at the race or dropped off in advance at the Reeves Community Center on S. Renfro Street.

There is a costume contest for the best holiday running outfit, sponsored by Food Lion of Mount Airy.

Course Information

The 5K course runs along the Ararat River Greenway, starting and finishing at Riverside Park on Riverside Drive. The route is an out-and-back course with a turnaround point at 1.55 miles.

Awards

Awards are given for the 5K. They include top three overall male and female winners, as well as top three male and female finishers in various age groups from 10 and under to 70+.

Logistics

Early packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at Reeves Community Center. Race day registration and packet pickup occur at the playground picnic shelter in Riverside Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
