Starting Block Winter Carnival 10 km and 3 km
Organized by Endurance Health and Fitness as part of the Vernon Winter Carnival, this event takes place on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Lavington Park, 6408 Lavington Way, Coldstream, BC. The program includes a competitive 10 km race and a 3 km fun run.
Distances:
- 10 km: certified course, flat or gently rolling, a mix of out-and-back sections and a loop through rural-residential and agricultural areas.
- 3 km: all-paved flat loop with an out-and-back; no placings or awards for the 3 km fun run.
Practical information: expect ice and snow on the course. Registration is online only and closes Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 6 PM; there are no day-of-race entries. Race package pickup is available Saturday at The Starting Block in Vernon (Saturday pickup limited to those registered before Thursday 6 PM) and on race day at the tennis courts in Lavington Park. Parking is along School Road after taking Hwy 6 east from Vernon; do not park on Lavington Way.
Post-race awards will be held outdoors in Lavington Park; participants are advised to bring warm clothing, chairs, and blankets. This is a cup-free event; participants should bring their own water and a cup. Refreshments and door prizes are planned. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
