About the race
Dirty Feet Kal Park 50 is a trail running event held at Kalamalka Provincial Park near Vernon, British Columbia. The event offers three distances:
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 8 km
Runners follow marked trails that pass through forest and grassland and include climbs with views of Kal Lake and the Okanagan Valley. The finish line is located at the beach. The park has been voted the best trails in British Columbia.
Aid stations and on-course support vary by distance. The 50 km course includes multiple aid stations along the route; the 25 km course has two aid stations; the 8 km course has no aid stations. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink, gummies, and chips. The finish area supplies sweet and salty snacks and drinks. Pacing and pacers are not permitted and support crews are restricted to the start/finish area and the designated halfway location. Video crews and drones are prohibited on course; reported violations may result in disqualification.
Prize distribution is specified for the 50 km race with cash awards for the top three men and top three women: $125 for first, $75 for second, and $50 for third. The 25 km and 8 km races receive sponsor prizes for top three finishers. Optional participant medals are available for purchase for a fee. Registration closes May 1 and there is no race day registration. Refunds are not offered but registrations may be transferred to another 2027 event if requested two weeks before the event.
