Course and Environment
The Dirty Feet Kal Park Ultra takes place in Kalamalka Provincial Park near Vernon, British Columbia. The event features trails that wind through forests and open grasslands, offering views of Kal Lake and the Okanagan Valley. The course is fully marked with flags and arrows, and the finish line is located directly at the beach.
Available Distances
The event offers three distinct trail running distances:
- 50 km
- 25 km
- 8 km
Support and Aid Stations
The 50 km race includes five aid stations throughout the course, while the 25 km race provides two stations. These stations supply water, electrolyte drinks, gummies, and chips. The 8 km distance does not have aid stations on the course. Post-race food, including sweet and salty snacks, is available at the finish area. Prize money is awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the 50 km category, while sponsors provide prizes for the top three finishers in the 25 km and 8 km races. Commemorative finisher medals are available as an optional purchase.
Logistics and Regulations
Pacing and individual support crews are not permitted on the course; support is only allowed at the start and finish terminal. Race packages can be collected at a local sports store in Vernon on the Friday and Saturday preceding the race, or at the start line on the morning of the event for out of town participants. Registration is conducted online and closes prior to race day, as there is no on site registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
