FatShoe
FatShoe is a winter endurance and adventure event held at Silver Star Mountain Resort. The event offers solo and team formats, separate fat bike and snowshoe races, and a non-competitive kids snowshoe event.
Racing takes place on the BX Creek trail system. Distances available:
- 10 km fat bike course on the BX Creek trails
- 5.5 km snowshoe course
- 2.5 km kids Snow Stompers course
Participants must supply their own fat bike and snowshoes; rentals are available locally. The solo snowshoe event is part of the Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series. On-site provisions at the start/finish area include a finisher medal, a BB&Bro's toque, warm food and drinks, fire pits, first aid presence, volunteers, and complimentary race photography.
The event operates under environmental and safety rules: stay on marked trails, no short cutting, no littering, and no e-bikes. Mandatory or recommended gear includes a minimum 500 ml water reservoir and emergency food.
