Stars, Stripes, and Strides 5K Run/Walk : Monroe, NC
The event features a 5K run and walk that starts and finishes at the Monroe Aquatics & Fitness Center, located at 2325 Hanover Drive, Monroe, NC 28110. The course runs through the surrounding community, including the Greenway behind Williams Road and the Parks Williams Athletic Complex. The route is relatively flat with a few long rolling hills and a reported maximum elevation gain of 75 feet.
Timing is provided by Queen City Timing using disposable chips attached to each race bib. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three finishers in each age group: 1-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. Race shirts are provided to every registered participant.
Registration is listed at $30 per participant and $40 on race day. Packet pickup takes place on the morning of the event. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Red Cross of Monroe, NC. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
