Matthews Kiwanis Labor Day 5K
The 35th Annual Matthews Kiwanis Labor Day 5K takes place on September 7, 2026 at the Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation Sportsplex in Matthews, NC. The event uses an out and back course on paved pathways around and between the sportplex stadium and soccer fields. The course is certified under certificate NC26010DF.
Race day registration tables will distribute bib numbers and race shirts. T shirts are guaranteed only for participants who register before midnight on August 24; after that cutoff shirts are available on a first come, first served basis. There is no packet pickup prior to race day. A separate Fun Run registration does not include a race shirt.
Pre registration opens April 20. The pre registration fee is $35 online through midnight September 5. After that time registration is $45 online at the registration tables. The event will be held rain or shine unless race directors determine conditions are too dangerous. If the race is canceled for severe weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers as noted in the waiver.
