Event Overview
The Shamrock Hill Run in Roanoke, Virginia, offers two running distances: a 1-mile and a 5K. The event takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Course and Location
Both races start and finish at Roanoke Catholic School. The courses are described as spectator-friendly and wind through the Gainsboro neighborhood and along the Lick Run Greenway.
Registration and Fees
Registration fees for the 5K are $30 through February 22, and $35 after that date. Registration fees for the 1-mile event are $25 through February 22, and $30 after that date. Shirt availability is guaranteed for registrations completed by February 22. Registration ends on the morning of the event.
Event Details
The 5K is chip-timed by Run Roanoke. The 1-mile event is not timed. A Celtic-themed awards ceremony will be held in Roanoke Catholic's Gillespie Family Gymnasium after the races. Medals are awarded in men's and women's age groups, and there is a prize for the best St. Patrick's Day costume. The public is invited to the awards ceremony.
Packet pickup is available on the Thursday and Friday before the event at RunAbout Sports and the school's gymnasium, and on race day starting at 7:30 AM at the gymnasium.
