Stanza Stones Summer Edition

Stanza Stones Summer Edition is a 24 hour, 50 miles linear route with over 6600 ft of ascent held on 6 June 2026. The course runs from Marsden in West Yorkshire to Ilkley and crosses moorland of the South Pennines. The route passes the historical village of Haworth and includes a climb over Ilkley Moor.

Participants visit six Stanza Stones along the route. Each stone bears a poem by Simon Armitage and the stones share a water theme. The six stone names are Snow, Rain, Mist, Dew, Puddle and Beck.

Event facilities include live tracking supplied by Open Tracking, three indoor checkpoints with food and drink, a finishers meal and changing rooms at the finish. There is an option to register at either end of the route. Optional extras listed by the organiser include an optional coach from Ilkley to Marsden for £11 and an optional quality cotton t shirt for £25. Transport after finishing is not included.

Entries are managed via SiEntries. Entries open 19 July 2025 and close 24 May 2026. Entry fees are listed with UKA member and non member rates and a scheduled price increase from 1 October 2025.
