About the race
Stanza Stones Summer Edition is a 24-hour ultra covering a 50-mile linear route from Marsden in West Yorkshire to Ilkley. The course climbs the South Pennines moorland, with over 6,600 feet of ascent, passing Haworth and over Ilkley Moor. Participants visit six Stanza Stones, each bearing a Simon Armitage poem tied to the water theme, with names Snow, Rain, Mist, Dew, Puddle, and Beck.
The route offers live tracking, indoor checkpoints with food and drink, and a finisher’s meal, with registration available at either end. An atmospheric challenge through historic moorland landscapes, combining poetry and outdoor endurance. Minimum entry age is 20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
