Stanford Draft Legal Triathlon : Stanford Treeathlon
The Stanford Draft Legal Triathlon takes place on February 14, 2026, in San Mateo, California, at 1901 J Hart Clinton Dr., San Mateo, CA 94401. There are two separate races on the same day: a draft-legal race for collegiate and elite athletes and a Classic (non-draft-legal) Treeathlon.
Race format and categories
The race format is a standard Olympic-distance style triathlon composed of the following legs:
- 750 m open-water swim
- 20 km bike
- 5 km run
The draft-legal event includes separate competitive categories for Collegiate, Elite, and Age Group athletes, with men’s and women’s waves listed for each category. The event page notes that the wave categories are binary but that organizers will accommodate participants regardless of gender identity.
Registration and entry rules
Registration for the draft-legal event is handled separately from the Classic race and uses a different entry process. The event specifies that participants must be at least 18 years old on race day.
