Event overview
Coyote Hills 2026 takes place on January 31, 2026 at Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont, California (9400 Quarry Road). The event offers multiple race options, and walkers and hikers are explicitly welcome. There is a separate hiker start for half marathon participants who expect to take longer than 3.5-4 hours.

Course and location
The course runs along the bay shoreline and includes a mix of surfaces: dirt, paved sections, and wood boardwalks through the marsh. The park is low-lying and the route involves minimal climbing. The park site includes archaeological features; evidence shows Native American presence dating about 12,900 to 13,500 years, and a Tuibun Ohlone village site more than 2,000 years old is part of the park’s interpretive programs.
