Bay Breeze - San Leandro Marina Park
Bay Breeze is a set of road races held at San Leandro Marina Park on the San Francisco Bay. The event offers three distances:
- Half marathon
- 10K
- 5K
Walkers are welcome. Course maps and water station locations are provided for each distance.
All finishers receive custom finisher medals and custom shirts, with cotton and tech shirt options available. Races are professionally timed using bib-tag timing. Age-group awards are given to the top three finishers in five-year categories, with fewer categories for the youngest ages.
The half marathon has a 4.5 hour course time limit; runners must reach the fourth aid station (mile 10) by the course cutoff that corresponds to roughly a 20+ minute per mile pace. A Hiker Division is available for half marathon participants who expect to take longer than the time limit; hikers are listed as official finishers and receive medals but are not eligible for overall or age-group awards. Water stations are stocked with water, sports drink, gels, pretzels, candy and similar items; approximate station locations by mile are provided for each race.
