About the race
Stairway 5k by Ode to Laz takes place on July 19, 2026 at Holly Recreation Area, 5000 McGinnis Road, Holly, MI 48442. The event comprises two separate *5k* races held as part of the Ode to Laz weekend festival and uses trails within the park. The Stairway to Heaven *5k* follows the Wilderness Trail on a rolling out and back course and finishes with a single loop that goes down and up the course’s Stairway to Heaven. Registration for the event is conducted at the Overlook Picnic area. The Stairway to Hell *5k* repeats the Stairway to Heaven multiple times within the same 5k distance.
The course includes about 1100 feet of total vertical gain as it incorporates the stair section repeatedly. Registration for this race is also handled at the Overlook Picnic area. Entry options include a combined entry for both races that applies a ten dollar discount to one race fee and provides one set of event swag. Both races make use of hiking trails at Holly Recreation Area.
