St Sunday Sky Race

The St Sunday Sky Race is a mountain Sky Race held in Patterdale on 18 July 2026. The course covers 29 km with 2050 m of ascent, running over St Sunday Crag and surrounding Eastern Fells. The route uses parts of the old Lakes Sky Ultra with added sections, but without the ultra and extreme elements.

The event is presented as an entry level sky type race and a stepping stone to longer races. The terrain includes technical mountain trails and ridges such as Striding and Swirral Edges, while allowing runners without longer distance experience to sample skyrunning in the Lake District.

Event services include a fully marked course, one fully supplied feed station and multiple manned checkpoints. Electronic timing and GPRS tracking are provided by Open Tracking. The event awards ITRA/UTMB ranking points and provides a professional Safety Officer and supporting safety team delivered by Mountain Run.

A post race soup is provided with vegan and gluten free options. Finishers receive a Wild Flower Seed Medal that can be planted to grow wild flowers. Minimum entry age is 18 or older. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
