Event

The St Sunday Sky Race takes place on Saturday 18 July 2026 in Patterdale, in the Lake District. The event is organised by Lake District Sky Trails. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entries open on 4 October 2025 and close on 5 July 2026; early entry numbers are shown on the organiser's entry list. Entry fees are listed as £100.00, rising to £110.00 from 1 January 2026 and £120.00 from 1 April 2026.

The event is described by the organiser as a classic distance SkyRace and an entry-level sky-type race. The route uses trails over St Sunday Crag and surrounding eastern fells and includes parts of the older Lakes Sky Ultra route combined with some new sections without the ultra or extreme elements.

Course and support

The course covers 29 km with 2050 m of ascent. It runs on technical mountain trails around the central and eastern fells of the Lake District, within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Support and safety measures include a fully marked course, five manned checkpoints, one fully supplied feed station, electronic timing and GPRS tracking by Open Tracking, and a professional safety officer and safety team provided by Mountain Run.
