About the race

The St Sunday Sky Race takes place on 17 July 2027 in Patterdale and is organised by Lake District Sky Trails. The course is 29 km long with 2050 m of ascent and runs over St Sunday Crag and the surrounding Eastern Fells within the Lake District World Heritage Site.

The route follows technical mountain trails and uses parts of the old Lakes Sky Ultra combined with new sections while omitting the ultra and extreme elements. The event is described as a classic distance SkyRace and an entry level sky type race that tests mountain trail skill and ridge running exposure.

Event services and safety provisions include a fully marked course, electronic timing and a GPRS tracker provided by Open Tracking, one fully supplied feed station plus five manned checkpoints, and a professional Safety Officer with a supporting safety team delivered by Mountain Run. Participants receive an eco medal and post race Voom Recovery. The event is professionally planned and delivered by an experienced organising team.

Entry rules and fees are specified for the event: minimum age 18, entries open 20 July 2026 and close 4 July 2027, with tiered entry fees starting at £100 and rising on set dates. An optional event refund product is offered for unforeseen circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
