St Sunday Sky Race 2027
The St Sunday Sky Race is a mountain running event held in Patterdale in the English Lake District on 17 July 2027. The course covers 29 km with 2050 m of ascent and runs over St Sunday Crag and surrounding eastern fells. The route uses technical mountain trails and includes parts of the old Lakes Sky Ultra plus some new sections, without the ultra and extreme elements.
Entries open 20 July 2026 and close 4 July 2027. The minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees vary by date with published increases at later dates.
The event features a fully marked course, electronic timing, and a GPRS tracker provided by Open Tracking. There are five manned checkpoints and one fully supplied feed station. A professional Safety Officer and a supporting safety team provided by Mountain Run oversee safety. The event includes post-race Voom Recovery and an Eco-Medal.
Organised by Lake District Sky Trails, the event is presented as a classic distance SkyRace intended as a stepping stone to longer skyrunning events. The course takes place within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is described as a test of mountain trail skill for runners who want to experience skyrunning terrain in the Lake District.
