Event details

The St Sunday Sky Race takes place on Saturday 18 July 2026 in Patterdale, in the central and eastern fells of the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage Site. The race distance is 29 km with approximately 2050 m of ascent. The minimum age for entry is 18. Entries open 4 October 2025 and close 5 July 2026. Entry fees change by date: £100, rising to £110 from 01/01/2026 and to £120 from 01/04/2026. A maximum allowed time of 10 hours is stated.

Course and included services

The route runs over St Sunday Crag and surrounding Eastern Fells and uses sections of the old Lakes Sky Ultra with additional non-ultra sections. The course is described as technical mountain trails with ridge sections such as Striding and Swirral Edges. Entry includes a fully marked course, one fully supplied feed station, manned checkpoints, electronic timing and GPRS tracking by Open Tracking, and ITRA/UTMB ranking points. A professional safety officer and supporting safety team from Mountain Run are provided. The entry package also includes a post-race meal with a vegan option and a finishers’ commemorative medal.
