Events and course
- 5K - 3.1 miles
- Kids Leprechaun Run - approximately 1/4 mile, open to ages 12 and under
The 5K is run or walk and the course travels along the parade route. No pets are allowed and strollers must start in the back for safety reasons. A virtual 5K option is available and virtual results count toward series standings.
Series, entry and packet pickup
The race is the second leg of the Tour de Patrick, a three-race series held in three Rhode Island cities during March. Participants who complete all three races receive a Tour de Patrick gift and a finisher's medal, to be collected at the Shamrock Shuffle finish. Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled at Marathon Sports, 1 Providence Place, on the days before the race; race day packet pickup is at the parking lot on Smith Street across from the State House. Pre-registered entrants receive a race t-shirt; shirts are not guaranteed for walk-up registrants.
Awards and charity
Individual awards are given by overall and age-group categories (Under 19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Overall awards use gun time; age groups use chip time. A team award is given to the top overall team, scored by chip time. The event supports Amos House. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
