Event overview
The St. Pat's 5K takes place on March 21, 2026 in Providence, Rhode Island, with the start/finish at the Rhode Island State House, 82 Smith Street. The 5K follows the route of the Providence St. Patrick's Day Parade. A virtual 5K option is offered and virtual participation counts toward the Tour de Patrick series and other Run Rhody series. A post-race gathering is planned at Patrick’s Pub, 381 Smith Street; live Irish music and a Guinness personalization activity are listed, and a cash bar will be available with ID required.
Race format, registration and awards
The event includes:
- Kids Leprechaun Run, approximately 1/4 mile, open to ages 12 and under; parents may run with their children.
- 5K Run/Walk, 3.1 miles; walkers are welcome. No pets are allowed and strollers must start in the back.
Early registration rates listed include a 5K price of $33 and a kids race price of $17 through December 31, 2025. Online registration deadlines and walk-up registration are noted on the race pages. Pre-race packet pickup is scheduled at Marathon Sports, 1 Providence Place; race day packet pickup is at the parking lot on Smith Street across from the State House.
