St. Patrick's Rock'n 5K
The St. Patrick's Rock'n 5K is an annual event held in Youngstown, New York. The race follows a USATF certified course that moves through the residential neighborhoods of the village. The event is organized by iRun WNY, with proceeds benefiting the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company Fire Police.
Available distances include:
- 5 km run/walk
The course begins on Main Street near the Ontario House and concludes in the rear parking lot of The Jug. Participants who register by the specified early deadline receive a commemorative event t-shirt in their preferred size, while a limited supply is available for later registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. All entrants receive a custom race bib and post-race snacks.
A celebration follows the event at the Stone Jug, featuring traditional Irish music and awards. Trophies are given to the top overall male and female finishers, and custom shamrock bottle opener medals are awarded to the top three finishers in several age categories, ranging from 19 and under to 70 and older. The event coincides with the local St. Patrick's Day Parade, which passes the finish area shortly after the race.
Parking is available throughout the Village of Youngstown, with additional overflow parking located at the entrance to Fort Niagara. The race uses Jaguar Electronic RFID timing for real-time results, and participants can download digital finisher certificates following the competition.
