St Patrick's 5K at Park Place
The St Patrick's 5K returns to Park Place in Leawood for its sixth annual edition. This community running event features several ways to participate, including options for local and remote runners. The available distances and events include:

The 5K race is chip-timed, and participants receive a custom finishers medal and a pint glass. There is also an option to purchase a short-sleeve event shirt during the registration process. To celebrate the holiday theme, the event includes a costume contest where runners are encouraged to wear St. Patrick's-themed outfits.
Awards are presented to the top overall and masters male and female finishers. Additionally, awards are given to the top three male and female participants across sixteen different age groups, spanning from 14 and under to 80 and over.
The event partners with Lucky 13 Rescue, a local organization that aids homeless and neglected dogs. Participants can contribute by bringing donation items such as puppy food, toys, or cleaning supplies to the race site or the scheduled packet pickup. Small items like collars, chew toys, and potty pads are also accepted to support the rehabilitation of animals in transition to foster homes.
