CHRISTmas Ugly Sweater 5K
Trinity Lutheran Ministries presents the 10th annual CHRISTmas Ugly Sweater 5K in Edwardsville, Illinois on December 12, 2026. The event offers both an in person 5K and a virtual 5K option; the virtual race window runs December 12 through December 20.

Finish line amenities include music, a photo booth, hot chocolate, and cookies. Proceeds benefit Glen-Ed Food Pantry and Neighbors in Need. Apparel options offered for early registration include t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, and hoodies; early registration prices are listed and early registration ends November 29. A finisher medal and shirt are guaranteed for those who register by December 2. Registration opens September 18 and closes November 30.
Timing and results are chip timed with RaceJoy tracking available. Awards include plaques for overall male and female and medals for the top three in the listed age categories from 9 & under through 75+. Virtual 5K medals will be awarded to the top finisher in each age category.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Trinity Lutheran School with instructions to use the school entrance to the left of the church doors, and there is race day packet pickup at Trinity Lutheran Church. A post-race sweater contest offers gift card prizes for categories including Ugliest Sweater and Best Group Theme. The event will be held rain, snow, or shine. There are no registration refunds.
