Chester Rim 5K
The Chester Rim 5K takes place at Chester Park in Duluth, MN (1801 E Skyline Pkwy). The course follows the Chester Rim Trail, which is part of the Duluth Traverse multi-use trail. The route forms a loop that drops below Skyline and follows Chester Creek, passing waterfalls and a gorge. The course uses packed winter trails and multi-use trail surfaces.
Duluth Winter Trailrunning Series
The race is part of the Duluth Winter Trailrunning Series, a set of four winter trail events on snowpacked fat bike and multi-use trails in Duluth. The series includes races at Chester Park, Lester Park, Hartley Park (a 10K), and a Frozen 4 Hour endurance event in Lester Park. Two of the series races offer snowshoe and "no shoe" (trail running) divisions. Runners who complete all four races receive a special award.
