St Joseph 5K and Fun Run

The St Joseph 5K and Fun Run is the fourth annual community running event held in Frederick, Maryland at St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church. The program on April 11, 2026 includes both a competitive 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk

The 5K uses chipped bib timing and awards medals to the top three men and top three women in multiple age brackets. The 1 Mile Fun Run awards ribbons to participants aged 13 and under and offers a group discount for parties of four or more. The first 25 5K registrants are entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card; registered runners are also entered into additional local business prize drawings. A guaranteed race day t shirt is available for those registered by March 20.

This event functions as a fundraiser and a food drive. The majority of proceeds support restoration of the historic church and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the St. Joseph food pantry located in the church basement. Attendees are invited to bring canned or dry food donations for the pantry.

Additional notes: packet pickup occurs at the historic church the day before with an on site pickup option on race morning. Strollers are allowed but should start from the back of the field; pets are not permitted. Parking is in the main church lot with volunteer direction to the historic church.
